14,000 FT The Mountain Is Not Going Anywhere ebook and audiobook bundle

A reel can warn you.
A system can prepare you.

Your legs, itinerary, pace, food, water, and decisions all meet on the same trail. The Dorje Method brings them into one calm plan before departure.

Three tools for the moments that matter.

  1. 01
Six-week training mapBuild durable legs and practice the descent—not only the climb.
  2. 02
Acclimatization calendarSee sleeping-elevation changes before the itinerary controls you.
  3. 03
Daily trail protocolUse simple checks for pace, food, water, symptoms, and descent decisions.

Preparation feels different when the plan is clear.

“The week-by-week plan gave me a clear way to prepare without overthinking every session. I knew what to focus on and how to build up gradually before the trip.”

MICHAEL T.

“The practical checklists changed how I approached the mountain. I started paying much more attention to pacing, weather, hydration, and when it was smarter to turn around.”

SARAH W.

“Having the audiobook made it easy to go through the method while walking and training. By the time I left, the main principles already felt familiar.”

DANIEL C.

Start where you are.

The first manual prepares you for your first trip above 8,000 feet. The second takes over where the trail ends.

The mountain is not going anywhere.

“You do not need to be fast up here. You need enough attention left to make the next decision.”

DORJE SHERPA · HIGH-ALTITUDE GUIDE

Know what the method does—and what it cannot promise.

Is this useful if I already have a guide?

Yes. A guide manages the route and the team; you still arrive with your own fitness, habits, pacing, fueling, hydration, and decision-making. The Dorje Method helps you prepare those parts and does not replace your guide's instructions or local expertise.

Does it apply to Colorado, Mount Whitney, and other high-elevation hikes?

The preparation principles apply broadly to high-elevation hiking, including objectives in Colorado and on Mount Whitney. Route conditions, permits, weather, snow, technical requirements, and official guidance remain location- and season-specific, so always check current local sources.

When should I start preparing?

The method is organized around six weeks. Start at least six weeks before departure when possible; beginning earlier gives you more room to build a base, adapt the plan, and avoid compressing missed training into the final days.

Do I need previous mountaineering experience?

No previous mountaineering experience is required for the preparation system. It does not teach technical climbing, avalanche safety, crevasse rescue, rope systems, or expedition medicine; obtain qualified instruction whenever your objective requires those skills.

Which one should I start with?

If this is your first trip above 8,000 feet, start with the field manual: the ebook for printable worksheets and visual reference, the audiobook for training walks and travel, or the bundle with both for $29 instead of $38 separately. If you are already comfortable at elevation and moving onto snow, crampons, and rope teams, go to When the Trail Ends, or take both manuals together for $44 instead of $53.

What exactly is included?

The ebook is a 73-page illustrated field manual with a six-week plan, itinerary worksheet, altitude log, checklists, and trackers. The audiobook includes 77 minutes of narration as one complete MP3 and four smaller listening sections. When the Trail Ends is the advanced manual: a 12-week training map, pack-load and descent preparation, snow, crampon, ice axe, rope-team and glacier awareness, and twenty field tools for decision-making.

Can I use the ebook on my phone and print the worksheets?

Yes. The PDF is designed for phone viewing and personal printing, so you can keep the manual with you and print the planning pages you want to mark up.

Will this prevent altitude sickness?

No manual can guarantee acclimatization or prevent altitude illness. This is educational preparation, not medical care. If symptoms worsen at elevation, descend and seek evaluation from a qualified healthcare professional.

Are taxes included in the displayed price?

The landing page shows the base product price. Applicable VAT, GST, sales tax, or other taxes may be added at checkout based on your location. Gumroad calculates, displays, collects, and remits applicable taxes.

How do I receive the files?

Gumroad provides access immediately after purchase and sends a receipt with your content link. You can also access the files later through your Gumroad Library.

Give the plan six weeks.
Give the mountain no promises.

Get both formats for $29 and use the method wherever preparation happens.
